eThekwini Municipality (South Africa) : Agri-Business Small Scale Poultry Farmers to Graduate

Over the past few days, the small scale poultry farmers within the eThekwini area have undergone an intensive learning programme, to help them grow their own agricultural businesses. The training was held as part of the Municipality’s quest to aggressively advance the agenda of Radical Agrarian Socio-Economic Transformation Programme (RASET).

Agri-Business Deputy Head, Mr. Vuyo Jayiya said “the intention of the programme was to equip the emerging farmers with knowledge to participate in the mainstream economy”. The attendees received training on financial management, marketing, poultry processing and the funding models available.
