Zimbabwe : Kadoma Town partners business to mobilise resources for isolation centre

jeudi 16 avril 2020

Special Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Kadoma Town Council has partnered the local business sector to mobilise resources for the mining town’s COVID-19 isolation centre in Ingezi as efforts to tame the coronavirus outbreak across the country intensify.

Kadoma mayor, Action Nyamukondiwa told that the local authority had identified Ingezi Clinic as its COVID-19 isolation centre. The mayor said the health facility had a bed capacity of 40 but no equipment and trained staff to cater for coronavirus patients.
To address this challenge, the town decided to partner with the local business community to source for required medical equipment and resources.

“We have set up COVID-19 isolation centre at Ingezi Clinic. The isolation facility is a 20 bed capacity and we have since erected a separate tent to accommodate another 20 beds,” he said.

Nyamukondiwa added there was need for equipment and resources to run the isolation centre.

“We have since partnered with the Kadoma Business Chamber to mobilise resources for the isolation centre. We currently need single beds, mattresses, sanitisers, linen and personal protective equipment,” he said.
