These lessons have informed the development of Freetown’s COVID-19 preparedness and response plan. The City of Freetown is also seeking to align the local response plan with that of the national government. The national government’s responses measures include the closure of all schools, prohibition of all gatherings of over 100 people, suspension of all inbound and outbound flights for 90 days, compulsory quarantine for all individuals entering Sierra Leone from high risk countries (those with over 50 cases), a three day full lock down (5th to 7th April) and a 14 day partial lockdown with a curfew (11th April to 25th April).

FCC COVID-19 preparedness & response plan consists of 3 strategic elements that support the National Government response :

Pillar 1 : Behaviour change messaging and supporting social mobilization
Pillar 2 : Behaviour change support
Pillar 3 : Isolation and containment support
