Although obviously designed for a first world context, they nevertheless offer substantial inspiration for LED practitioners in developing countries.

10 City Local Economic Development Programme Central African Republic

The one-year project, funded to the tune of USD 1 million, is aimed at reigniting sustainable local economic development in 10 cities to improve housing deficiencies, the environment, infrastructure, basic social services and security in the local authorities.

UN-HABITAT and the European Union have launched a new infrastructure development project in the Central African Republic as part of a programme aimed at strengthening the capacities of local authorities, the agency announced on Thursday.

Cities Outlook 2009 [English Cities]

This is one of the first reports to address the impact the 2008 recession will have on English cities. It offers ideas on comparative analysis, and uses indicators to compare past and future city economic performance. Clearly more data is available in England than in most LEDNA countries, but it gives ideas and perspectives.
